There are no vaccines for strep throat, but there are treatments and ways to prevent getting it. If you don't want to get strep throat, the best thing you can do is wash your hands often and keep any wounds you have clean. Treatments include taking antibiotics, usually penicillin, amoxicillin, or cephalosporin. To test if you have it, get a throat culture, and if you do, take antibiotics and stay away from people for 24 hours, and after that it will not be contagious.
